The Genevois area? What’s that?

With altitudes ranging from 450 to 1,379 metres, the Genevois is a combination of plains, green countryside and medium-altitude mountains. Everybody can select the altitude they feel most comfortable with here - and the activities that go with it !

Mont Salève and the Vuache range offer breathtaking views of Geneva and its lake, the Rhône and Jura. Turn round on the top of Mont Salève and you'll find a panoramic view of the Alps and Mont-Blanc behind you.

17 towns, small villages and hamlets, some of them on the "Camino", the path to Santiago de Compostela, give the area an authentically natural feel.

You'll find yourself off the beaten track, far from crowds of tourists, and able to breathe in fresh air without being far from the attractions of a town. Saint-Julien is a sub-prefecture with a population of 12,000. Geneva, just a stone's throw away, rivals the greatest European capitals.

Come and discover this wonderful area. Go from town to country, from natural environment to cultural venue, from business to leisure, for a weekend or a holiday, with family, significant other or friends!
